Friday Fictioneers — The Artist’s Inspiration

“How did you come up with the concept?” the TV interviewer asked the man responsible for the billowing, semitransparent, ribbed tubes hanging from the geometric patterns elevated on mast-like poles above the walkway between the buildings. “It’s truly awe-inspiring on a grand scale. What served as your inspiration?”

The artist was pleased that his work was being so positively received, yet he wasn’t sure how people would react if they knew his true inspiration. But when she thrust the microphone in front of his face, he said, “You know those inflatable dancing tube men they have outside of some stores….”

        Pretty hard to do to, given that I was in two car accidents yesterday, and witnessed a third. Very sore, but everyone is okay.

    Ha ha ha ha, that would have left the interviewer suitably flummoxed. And you actually found the perfect picture to go with your story 🙂
